Ordering and delivery
Do you deliver anywhere in Sri Lanka?
Yes. Delivery is free to any address in Sri Lanka. We usually send orders out within 5 working days, and you’ll get an email with the estimated delivery time once your order is placed. We don’t ship outside Sri Lanka yet; email info@budryscales.com if you need an export quotation.
How can I pay?
By Visa or Mastercard on WebXpay’s secure payment page, in three instalments with Koko, or by bank transfer. Your card details are typed on the payment provider’s page and never reach or stay on our website.
Can I pay cash on delivery?
Yes, for orders over Rs 15,000 delivered in the Western Province (Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara districts). The option appears at checkout as soon as you choose your district.
Do I need an account to order?
No. You can check out as a guest with your name, phone number and delivery address, and follow your delivery on the order tracking page. If you’d like to see all your orders and save your address for next time, create a free account on the My account page or tick “Create an account” at checkout.
Can I see the scale before buying?
Of course. Visit our head office and factory in Moratuwa or our showrooms in Colombo 12 and Mount Lavinia, Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00. Addresses and maps are on the contact page.
Can I get a quotation for my business?
Yes. For several scales, a supermarket fit-out or a custom platform, call 0117 555 800 or send us a message from the contact page and we’ll prepare a quotation.
Choosing a scale
Which scale can I use to sell goods by weight?
In Sri Lanka, a scale used to sell goods by weight must be trade approved and stamped by the Measurement Units, Standards and Services Department. Look for the Trade approved badge on the product, or answer three questions in the scale finder.
Do trade scales need to be stamped again?
Yes. Trade scales must have their stamping renewed every year. Our service team can arrange stamping for you: book a technician or call 0117 555 800.
Will a label printing scale work with my POS system?
Yes. Our label printing scales print barcodes your POS can scan. We load your product list (PLUs) and set the scale up on site.
Warranty, service and returns
What warranty do I get?
All scales sold by Budry come with a one year comprehensive warranty. Keep your warranty card and the original receipt, because we need both before a warranty repair. The warranty doesn’t cover misuse, unauthorised repairs, liquid spills, corrosion or the wrong voltage. The warranty policy has the full list.
How do repairs work?
Bring the scale to our Moratuwa factory and we’ll repair it while you wait. If you can’t come in, we can collect it by courier and send it back within 2 to 3 working days of fixing the problem. We repair scales after the warranty ends too.
Can I return a product?
Yes, within 3 days of delivery, if it’s unused and in its original packaging. We refund when an order arrives damaged, doesn’t match the description, is the wrong item or quantity, or arrives incomplete. See the refunds and returns policy.
My order arrived damaged. What should I do?
Contact us straight away on 0117 555 800 or at info@budryscales.com, with your order number and a photo of the damage.
